DESCRIPTION

In line with International Museum Day, the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) partners with Ortigas Foundation, known for specializing in paper, for a lecture-demonstration on the how-to's in treating, handling, mounting and storing of paper artifacts. A very significant and often overlooked process for individuals and institutions with collections, it will look into the characteristics of the medium as well as provide a hands-on presentation on simple treatment and proper handling. Finally, this will aid them to take a wise decision on what to do and not to do on their collection.

Loreto Apilado and Mar Alcantara, members of the Ortigas Foundation Book & Paper Conservation Unit, will facilitate the workshop. Admission is free.

This workshop is in line with current exhibition POSTER/ITY: 50 Years of Art and Culture at the CCP, on view until 26 May at the Bulwagang Juan Luna (Main Gallery), Pasilyo Guillermo Tolentino (3F Hallway Gallery), Library and Archives, and Buffeteria.
