Set in the beautiful backdrop of sunset in the mountains, this year’s Symphonic Sunsets at Makiling features light classics and pops. Now on its sixth year, this program expands to two concerts featuring the country’s leading orchestra, Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra (PPO) with Yozhikazu Fukumura and Herminigildo Ranera conducting on May 4, and one of the first orchestras in Asia, the Manila Symphony Orchestra (MSO) under the baton of Jeffrey Solares on May 18. With a comfortable “picnic setting,” audiences can bring food and refreshments. Bring your picnic baskets and your pets and enjoy the sunset in Makiling while being serenaded with classical strains and well-loved melodies!

Buses will be available at the entrance of UP Los Baños from 2:00 PM to shuttle audiences to NAC and back to UPLB grounds after the concert for FREE, but we also encourage you to provide your own vehicle for your convenience. It usually takes two hours to drive from Manila to Los Baños but since the concert is on a Saturday, we also advise you to allot one more hour of travel time to the venue so that you may arrive on time for the concert.

For refreshments, snacks drinks will be available for sale in the Food Booths at the venue. Since the concert has comfortable “picnic setting,” you may also bring your own food and beverage.

Bring your picnic baskets and enjoy a unique symphonic sunset experience at the mountaintop venue with the Manila Symphony Orchestra!
