DESCRIPTION

To celebrate March as Women’s Month, the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP), in partnership with Women Playwrights International-Philippines (WPIP), will hold an all-women event entitled READATHON: Dramatic Reading of Plays by Women 2019 at the CCP from 9:00AM onwards on March 15 and 16, 2019. READATHON: Dramatic Reading of Plays by Women 2019 is the CCP Gender and Development Committee’s flagship project that will feature women’s creativity through reading of plays, talk, book discussion, art fair and book fair at various venues in CCP.

Celebrating its 7th year, Readathon is a free and open to public event that focuses on the talent of women playwrights from different regions as their written works will be dramatically performed by aspiring group of theater actors and actresses.
 
Gawa ng Ina Mo!: A Mama Makers Market
Old Manila Eco Market will hold an arts and crafts fair on March 15 from 8:00am at the Silangan Hall, CCP Main Building. There will be 35 sellers from different groups and organizations of mother creators that will sell their products during Readathon.
 
Tell Stories Like Nanay
The Pinoy Kids Read Pinoy Books Book Club (PKRPB) will be having a book discussion entitled Tell Stories Like Nanay on March 15 from 1:00pm at the Bulwagang Pambansang Alagad ng Sining (MKP Hall). There will also be a workshop in a small corner of MKP for the kids. Maximum is 30 participants.
 
Gandang Ganda Sa Sariling Gawa 2 All-Women Small Press Fair
Gantala Press will organize an all-women book, zine, art crafts fair on March 16 from 8:00am at the Silangan Hall, CCP Main Building. Through Gantala, there will be 35 sellers from different groups, organizations, and publisher who will sell their masterpieces during Readathon.
 
Manga Tutul A Palapa (Recipes and Memories from Ranao)
The Pinoy Reads Pinoy Books Book Club (PRPB) will share and discuss a book from 10:00am at the Bulwagang Pambansang Alagad ng Sining (MKP Hall). The book lovers especially books from other regions will surely enjoy this kind of book discussion. Maximum is 30 participants.
 
Book Launching
The participants of Gandang Ganda Sa Sariling Gawa fair will be having a launching from 4:00pm to 6:00 pm at the Silangan Hall, CCP Main Building. Atsara Collective, Xenia-Chloe Villanueva, Chay Canceran, and Mao Factolerin will launch their new books and zines.
